Your First Stop for Adventure

Intro

Hey everyone! Welcome to Adventure Starts Here. We’re two best friends who don’t take traveling lightly. If you like slow-paced vacations with plenty of rest and relaxation, this may not be the blog for you. We try to see as much as we can in the time we have because we know you’re never guaranteed a second chance. My name is Rebecca and my travel partner is Lindsay. We make up Adventure Starts Here. Lindsay is the Type-A organizer and trip planner extraordinaire and I am the photographer, editor, and designer for our online presence. We’re single, in our 30’s, and know that life is short – so we’re packing in as much adventure as we can. This blog is neither of our full-time jobs, but we love that they get to use our separate talents to make a tool that can help others plan their own adventures. We hope you find these resources helpful and valuable.

We love that travel can open up so many learning opportunities and life experiences. To us, travel is valuable, but we also recognize it’s a huge honor to have the ability to get to travel around the world. We don’t take the privilege lightly.

Why A Blog?

Planning a trip can be daunting. All the research, reservations, and preparation that goes into traveling can make you not even want to go. After many trips and people afterwards asking “Hey, could you send me your itinerary?” or “Tell me what NOT to do when I go there,” we decided to create a place to share our experiences and resources. We are kind of going out on a limb and creating this platform for people to use in the hopes that it will spur others to create their own adventures and learn from our successes and failures.

Types of Posts

There were some themes that developed from the types of questions people asked us about our travels, which helped to develop the types of posts we will be focusing on. We will try to evolve what we post, but as we get started, we have 3 areas that we’ll be focusing our energy towards:

  1. Travel Guides (itineraries and detailed trip recommendations)

  2. Do’s & Don’ts

  3. Packing Lists

Every now and then we’ll post “one-offs” outside of these themes, but you can expect at least a travel guide after every one of our trips. If the trip warrants all three, we’ll have multiple posts per adventure.

That’s It!

Our greatest hope is that this is a helpful resource for you to use to plan your next adventure. Maybe if our experiences can help you avoid a potential trip disaster, that’s a success! In the same breath, sometimes those experiences make for the best stories. So here’s to planning but also to living. We can’t wait to hear about your next adventures!
